Moreover, with Cisco XRv9000 modular control in data plane architecture you can elastically up and down between multiple process records, sockets and even servers in a very efficient matter.
The Cisco XRv9000 has been optimized for virtual routing performance. It utilizes a higher forwarding information base for fast convergence times as well as a dedicated software-based traffic manager. These allows three levels of hierarchical QoS and 512000 queues and operating at 40Gbps per core. In addition, the software-based TCAM has optimized for lookup speeds.

The Cisco IOS XRv9000 Router can run on Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS) servers, as well as servers from vendors that support VMware ESXi, Red Hat KVM, and Ubuntu KVM. The server must supply at least the following resources:
– Virtual CPU Cores required: 1 socket with a minimum of 2 cores
– Virtual Machine Memory Size: 12GB Minimum, 19GB recommended for 10G interfaces
– Disk space: 45GB minimum for vPE and vRR image variants
The Cisco IOS XRv 9000 Router licensing includes demo and production modes. The demo modes the default mode when the router is launched and needs no connectivity to cloud. Moreover, the production mode needs registration while no limitations are imposed, and no enforcements applied, regardless of whether the customer is in compliance or not, from a licensing point of view.
